You approach what the Elven Goblin tells you is Lostman's Desert. Sand stretches as far as you can see with one exception. Along the horizon, a pink haze give an erie glow to ruins jutting out into the sky. While they seem to be only a few miles away, you know that your eyes are deceiving you. Things always appear nearer then they are in the desert. One thing is certain, you won't be able to get past the sands without first crossing the ominous ruins. Before you can comment on it however, the ground at your feet comes alive and several beetles burst from the terrain. They rush towards you with a fevered clicking of their jaws.
